What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient practice using needles to stimulate points along meridians. Our chi is split up into different meridians, or lines of energy, that flows throughout our bodies. Along these meridians are acu-points. Acupressure uses pressure with fingers, thumbs, elbows, or another device to stimulate the point. Acupuncture uses small needles to stimulate the point.

What’s it good for?

Acupuncture can help balance the systems of the body. It can

  • Stress Management
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Allergies
  • Pain Management
  • Injury Recovery
  • Women’s Health
  • Digestive issues
  • So much more….

Does it hurt?

Not really. The acupuncture needles are about the width of a strand of hair. You can take about 25 of them and put them inside a hypodermic needle–the kind that is used to give you a flu shot or take blood. There are some points where you feel it more, but those are typically on places with more nerve endings, like your hands, feet, face, and ears. Most of the time, it feels more like something sharp is touching you, rather than being poked with needles.
